Beta Club Meets for September; Discusses Convention and Fundraising
On September 23rd the Casey County Jr. Beta Club met in the cafeteria for its September meeting. They discussed both old and new agenda items such as their outstanding bill over $1200 for transportation from last year’s convention, while sustaining a balance of a little over $600 in the bank. They also discussed the dues owed to the club for both new and returning members, with the dues remaining the same. $35 for new members and $15 for returning members. The club opted to continue its yearly RADA fundraising campaign, selling cutlery. They noted that the RADA campaign shall be vital in their club’s fundraising, as they are not allowed to sell candy this year. Beta will be electing their club officers at the next meeting in November. They are also preparing for their annual convention in Lexington from Jan 27-29th.
Advisors had noted that the current cost for those attending the convention has not been decided but usually will cover all transportation, a stay at the Hyatt Regency, 2 meals, and convention registration. The only people who will be allowed to attend will be members participating in convention sanctioned events and competitions. Competition categories will be released to Beta members. Sign ups for all competitions are to begin next week. More info will be posted in the Beta Club Google Classroom.
