Prince The Hedgehog is my dear pet hedgehog. His fur is a light skin tone, but his actual skin is more of a light peach. Prince has a black colored nose, with white whiskers extruding near it. His eyes seem to be purely black, and seem to have no pupils when seen with the naked human eye. His quills form a gradient, starting as a light brown on his skin, to a light tan on the tips. His ears are in a half moon shape, being brown in coloration. When frightened, he has the ability to raise his quills upwards, forming a protective layer around him. Alongside this, he is capable of curling into himself, becoming a shape that resembles a spiked ball. Prince is nocturnal, such as any other hedgehog. But there’s not just one thing that makes him special. There is more. He doesn’t live in the outdoors like normal hedgehogs. He lies inside my home, in a comfortable, large, and clear tote. He doesn’t eat the things a normal hedgehog eats, such as mealworms, millipedes, and fruit. Prince eats cat food. Due to this, his teeth are sharper than a regular hedgehog’s. His name originates from the famous singer, Prince, known for songs such as “Purple Rain”, “Take Me With U”, and “When Doves Cry”. He has the capability to learn. I know this because I have taught him to swim towards me if he is in danger. Now, you may be wondering, “Why am I, the reader, being told of this seemingly regular hedgehog?” Well to this I say, who else in Casey County do you, the reader, know of that owns a hedgehog? Besides, that isn’t even the best part. No, because Prince knows about fictional characters. Me and a dear friend, Krystina, have shown him images of different Sonic Oddities. He takes a seemingly nice liking to images of Rewrite and Lord X. I have also shown him regular Sonic characters, such as Sonic, Amy, and Infinite. He seems to have a good feeling for them. Now, compared to the EXEs, I personally think his backstory is much more tame. I received him from one of my dear father’s acquaintances. He was very negative towards touch. There was also a notable increase in urinary and bowel output when he was first introduced to us. He seemed to have a large disliking to water, seeing as he would attempt to escape his bathing container. Along with this, he stayed in a spiked ball almost daily. He has warmed up, coming out of his ball state almost as soon as my scent hits his nose. Currently, he seems to be fine with baths, sometimes even seeming to enjoy them. We have tried to give Prince toys to entertain himself with, but he shows little to no interest in them. Yet, he does seem to take a liking to biting rags and towels for fun. He shakes his head like a dog playing. All in all, Prince is special to me. And I hope after reading this, he is special to you too. Below I will place a photograph of him.
