Metal Sonic.

Metal Sonic, or otherwise known as Metal, is a major secondary antagonist in Sega's Sonic the Hedgehog franchise. He is a robotic copy of Sonic the Hedgehog created by Dr. Eggman. He serves as one of the most important members of the Eggman Empire and is usually Dr. Eggman's loyal right-hand man and enforcer. However, Metal Sonic has gone against Eggman several times, most famously in Sonic Heroes. Although he was created to serve Dr. Eggman, Metal Sonic has one main goal. Destroy Sonic by proving that he is faster and more powerful than him. This makes him one of Sonic's greatest enemies. Metal Sonic's voice is only heard in Sonic Heroes and Shadow Generations, mainly when he takes forms such as Neo Metal Sonic, Metal Madness, and Metal Overlord. In Japanese, he is voiced by Jun'ichi Kanemaru, who also voices Sonic and Chaos Sonic in the Sonic franchise. In English, he was voiced by Ryan Drummond in Sonic Heroes and Ray Chase in Shadow Generations. Metal Sonic was designed to look like Sonic and is mostly made of blue metal. He has a yellow, circular opening in his chest with a black center, which resembles the peach-colored area on Sonic's chest. His head has metal fins that look like Sonic's quills, along with two triangular ears. His muzzle, shoulders, upper arms, legs, fingers, and claws are made of silver-colored metal. His palms are black, while the backs of his hands have square yellow plates. His forearms and lower legs are blue, matching his head and body. His feet are red with white stripes that resemble Sonic's shoes. Instead of normal eyes, Metal Sonic has screens with cameras behind them, giving his eyes a red appearance. After the Ifrit incident, Metal Sonic received a small redesign. He became taller and was given a more rounded, oval-shaped torso. His hands became more detailed, his blue paint became brighter, and his arms and legs received visible joints. His eye openings were also made sharper. As Neo Metal Sonic, his design becomes much more advanced. He has five long quills instead of his normal three, along with white stripes and markings around his eyes that resemble Shadow the Hedgehog. His ears change from yellow to red, and his gray nose becomes black. Neo Metal Sonic also has stronger-looking armor, including curved black shoulder plates, larger gauntlets, and leg armor with sharp kneecaps outlined in white. He has armor covering his pelvis and shoes with pointed designs. He also wears a spiked belt and has a black cape that extends from the back of his waist. Metal Sonic considers himself superior to the real Sonic and strongly hates Sonic and his friends. Unlike Sonic, Metal Sonic is extremely arrogant and believes that he is the ultimate life-form. He is willing to do almost anything to prove his superiority, including betraying Dr. Eggman. At one point, Metal Sonic even believed that he was the real Sonic. However, after his breakdown and betrayal of Dr. Eggman in Sonic Heroes, he accepted that he was an artificial copy of Sonic. After Sonic Heroes, Metal Sonic embraced his evil nature and continued working with Dr. Eggman. His main goal remained defeating Sonic. Over time, he began to think of himself as Sonic in a different way, calling himself "Sonic the Hedgehog PERFECTED." However, some of his belief that he was truly Sonic disappeared when he touched the Metal Virus and was unaffected by it. Despite his hatred of Sonic, Metal Sonic has a strong connection with Dr. Eggman. When Eggman disappeared in Sonic Forces, Metal Sonic searched through the remains of the world to find him. He also continued Eggman's plans for world domination and even wore a "Let's go Dad" T-shirt to show his support for his creator.

Metal Sonic is considered one of Dr. Eggman's greatest creations. He is powerful enough to fight Sonic almost evenly. He can match Sonic's incredible speed and can curl into a ball and spin toward enemies like Sonic does. Because he was created using Sonic's abilities and data, Metal Sonic can predict many of Sonic's movements. Metal Sonic can also scan other characters and copy their abilities. For example, he has copied Shadow's Chaos Control and Chaos's ability to turn into a liquid form. His own abilities include flight, an extremely powerful black shield, laser and plasma attacks, great strength, and high durability. One of his most famous attacks is the V. Maximum Overdrive Attack. During this attack, Metal Sonic overloads his circuits and launches himself forward while surrounded by a powerful energy field. Metal Sonic has several different forms in addition to his normal appearance. Some forms give him additional powers and make him much stronger. Metal Sonic Kai was originally the name used for the Metal Sonic model that appeared in Knuckles Chaotix in the Japanese manuals. Later, the name was changed to refer to the final form Metal Sonic takes in the game. He transforms into this form after Dr. Eggman gives him the seventh and final Dark Ring. This causes him to become a large, monstrous red robot. Metal Sonic uses the Neo Metal Sonic form for most of Sonic Heroes. The exact details of how he transforms into this form and the full extent of its abilities are not completely known. However, Neo Metal Sonic can change his shape, fire electrical attacks from his claws, and speak. After copying the abilities and data of Sonic's, Dark's, Rose's, and Chaotix's teams, as well as Chaos, Metal Sonic transforms into Metal Overlord. He combines his copied abilities with parts from other Eggman machines. In this form, Metal Overlord gains flamethrowers, missile launchers, a spiked whip-like tail, and claws that can fire spikes and crystals. He becomes extremely powerful and durable. Even characters using their Super forms, which are powered by the seven Chaos Emeralds, cannot directly damage him. Metal Sonic also has a similar form called Master Overlord. This form requires his Neo Metal Sonic form, Sonic and Shadow's bio-data, and the Master Emerald. However, Master Overlord can be defeated if the Master Emerald is removed.
